Watch Dollhouse

Dollhouse is the latest TV show from Joss Whedon, and it’s on Fox.

Which means that you can assume they are considering canceling it like they did Firefly (for which we will never forgive them).

Dollhouse got off to a slow start, one assumes from the hands of Fox all over it, rather than letting Joss do his thing (it’s always bad when they reject the original pilot episode. They mucked around with the sequence of Firefly episodes too.)

You can watch Dollhouse online for free (and download them as well if you’re willing to wait). Things really start to heat up in episode six (not that the first ones are bad, they’re just… slower, with a lot of character development going on).

One of my favorite exchanges was in last week’s episode, “Haunted”

(Scene starts around 20:57)

Girl: “I’m sorry…. God, I’m so emo…”

Woman: “You lost your mother, it’s only natural that you’d be so elmo.”

Girl: “Emo

Woman: “That’s not a word, sweetie.”

OK, it’s not an exchange that makes you want to watch the show, I just thought it was funny.

Give It a Chance

Maybe Dollhouse isn’t great yet, but it’s very good, and you get the sense that it really could be great if it gets a little time to develop. There’s part Alias and part Quantum Leap and part something else altogether.

So hit up the website. I’m sure they’re tracking visitors as one way to show that there’s support for the show. If you haven’t watched any episodes yet, checkout the first two at least. If you love it, watch the rest. If you’re unsure, skip to episode 6.

I fear the day when “Reality TV” is all we get because that’s all people will watch.

So…. Watch Dollhouse
