"We need to talk"

FWIW, I do the same thing, especially when it comes to my job.

Recently I had someone ask if we could “get lunch and talk sometime this week” and I brought her into my office “to check my calendar”, closed the door, and said “I’d be glad to schedule some time together later this week, but I’d like to know now what the overall issue is because otherwise I’m going to spend an inordinate amount of time trying to guess.”

It is, nearly always, innocuous, but the brain… the brain can be your worst enemy.

Maybe that’s why you like zombies so much ;-)
