In Praise of Tumblr Support
I have given Tumblr, Inc. more than a little grief; most of it deservedly so (don’t get me started on Tumblarity. Really. No one wants that. Again.)
But I have to say this, they’re support folks are usually very responsive (i.e. an answer in the next day or so).
For example, yesterday I realized that http://tj.tumblr.com was not pointing to a Tumblr site. I also realized that http://mactips.tumblr.com/ was being used a SEO/link spammer.
I emailed tech support, and heard back from them in less than 24 hours. Both of the URLs had been made available.
Considering that Twitter takes weeks to respond to request to take over abandoned Twitter @names (IF EVER!), and doesn’t seem to respond to some @spam reports AT ALL, this is pretty impressive.
n.b. http://tj.tumblr.com now redirects to http://talesofbeingtj.com If you were following Tales Of Being TJ already, you do not have to do anything. However, if people don’t know about it, it will be a little easier to find.
Also: http://mactips.tumblr.com is going to be a place where I throw little bits of Mac tips that I use. It may be of interest to some of you Mac nerds.
