French parliament takes steps to mandate disclaimers for all manipulated photos in advertisements

A link to arstechnica on the issue of “digitally enhanced” pictures.

I’ve written about my feelings about this before in Lies, damn lies, and Photoshop and Actress Natalie Portman Viciously Attacked by An Airbrush so I won’t repeat myself, except to say that I think these fake images are every bit as scary as some people feel about eating genetically modified foods.

At the very least, a disclaimer would be a good start.
