Anyone know how to get Tweetie 2 to fill in the missing gaps in my timeline?
It can’t.
Which is why I don’t use it.
How such a mind-boggling oversight made it into the final version, I have no idea.
Are there iPhone clients that can get around Twitter’s API limitations?
The API limits you to 200 messages at a time. The API will let you request “more” back to 3,200
The API only limits how many messages get loaded at one time. If you remember Tweetie 1, it would load 200 messages (or fewer) which is a limitation from the API, but then there was a button to load another 200 older messages.
Tweetie 2 added caching, but didn’t give you a way to go back further than the initial load, which is limited to 200 messages.
That’s a bug I expect will be fixed in 2.1… I can’t use it until it is added (and it is yet another reason for demo versions… yeah it’s only $3 but it’s a waste of $3 if it doesn’t do something so basic as load older messages… and the first person to say “cup of coffee” to me gets punched in the face.)
