Dangers of the Geek (In)attention Span

  1. Receive email “Can you post this file to the website?”
  2. Download file
  3. Try to upload the file using ‘scp’ and realize that it’s asking you for the password. Which you don’t remember.
  4. Find password
  5. Upload file to temporary spot on server
  6. Setup ssh to allow you to access the account without a password
  7. Configure Dropzone so you can drag and drop files to upload
  8. Get distracted and go to something else
  9. Go to lunch and clear out your email on your iPhone while waiting
  10. Re-read the original email from step 1 and realize that you never actually put the file where it needs to go
  11. Write this Tumblr post
  12. Put the file where it needs to go [#TODO]
