  • I can’t believe none of you told me how terrible SOTB looked on the iPhone dashboard. There’s no reason that needs to wrap.

And a leading zero on the hour? Maybe if we were rolling military time, but not for AM/PM. That’s just ugly. Of course, then it left a leading blank, which wasn’t acceptable either, so I had to make sure to get rid of that.

Speaking of ugly, I wish it would show “am” and “pm” rather than “AM” and “PM”, unfortunately the version of strftime on the server doesn’t support that so… hrm… yeah, I suppose I could just flip it with sed… not particularly elegant, but then again, it doesn’t have to be.

I thought about trying to remove the leading zero from the month, but for some reason that doesn’t bother me like the hour did. At least for now.

Anyway, I’ve tweaked it a bit so it looks less terrible.

~”What’s the point?”~

Usually whenever I mention this, someone will ask what the point is. After all, if you go to http://soundofthebeep.tumblr.com it’s just a list of times.

The point is that when you read Tumblr in your dashboard, those posts every 15 minutes give you context for when things were posted. It even makes it easier to go back and find something if you know “about” when it was posted, if you use it in conjunction with Missing E.
