I had some teachers I would have been glad to let assist me in this way. Some interesting tidbits from the story though:
TAMPA — Before a Davidsen Middle School teacher started a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old student, she told the boy she could help him overcome his shyness, according to a new court filing.
He’s 14. For those of you who have never been 14 year old boys, let me tell you it is painfully excruciating. Even if you aren’t shy.
When teacher Stephanie Ragusa, 28 … broke her foot and was confined to a wheel chair, the boy was assigned to escort her around the school, detectives wrote in their request for a search warrant filed in Hillsborough Circuit Court.
a) She’s 28.
b) Why was he assigned to escort her around the school? Doesn’t that seem like something that, um, someone else who wasn’t a student should have done?
At her apartment, they had what the boy described to police as “consensual” sex. Ragusa then took him back to school in time to be picked up by his step-mother.
The actual police report states that the boy described it as “So very much totally the best day of my life, ever” which the police simple abbreviated as “consensual” because they ran out of space on the form.
“His nickname around the police station is ‘lucky bastard’” said an officer who spoke on condition of anonymity.
Over the next several weeks, detectives wrote, Ragusa and the boy spoke over the phone. One night, while the boy’s parents were sleeping, the teacher picked him up around the corner from his house and they had sex in the back seat of her silver Lexus SUV, the report states.
“Which was even better than the first time,” said the boy, who spoke with a perpetual smile and distant gaze on his face.
By the way, for those keeping track: she’s 28, and driving a Lexus SUV. And she’s a teacher. And likes to have sex. This kid should play the lottery.
Their sexual relationship lasted from October, 2006 to May 2007, detectives said.
The 14 year-old had an 8-month sexual relationship? I know a lot of 20-somethings who would kill for that.
The last reported sexual incident between the two took place the night of the boy’s eighth grade dance.
You know what happened at my 8th grade dance? I got to dance with a girl. Awkwardly. Think of two windmills lurching back and forth like metronomes and you’ll have the basic idea.
At first I was happy for him. Now I kinda hate him.
The boy said he skipped the dance, got a ride from Ragusa to an after-hours party, then got a ride with her to Gant Road, where they had sex again, detectives say.
Yup, I hate him.
The boy described to detectives two tattoos — a flower and possibly a butterfly — in Ragusa’s groin area that they said would be visible only without clothes, as well as a gecko on her back.
If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times: if you’re going to have sex with a minor, try to avoid having any discriminating marks on your body.
Hillsborough Sheriff’s detectives requested the search warrant to obtain pictures of Ragusa’s body as well as DNA samples and fingerprints from her Lexus.
My guess is that they’ll find a lot of DNA samples. He’s 14, for bleep’s sake.

Sorry, I know this is illegal, but part of me can’t help but think that having sex with a shy 14 year old boy should be considered an act of kindness.
