Tattoo

A true story from a friend just back from Iraq. (Repeat: true story)

A unit went out looking for some suspected “bad guys” and entered a house, which they found empty.

Or, at least, it appeared to be.

While talking about what to do next, an attacker sprung from a trapdoor, and threw a live grenade at them.

It happened too quickly for anyone to react, and one of the soldiers watched as the grenade flew directly at his chest… where it hit his body armor and bounced back into the hole revealed by the trapdoor, where it detonated, killing all of the would-be attackers but leaving our soldiers unhurt.

The soldier is planning to get a tattoo when he returns to the USA which will read (and, I repeat, I am not making this up):

“I’m rubber and you’re glue.”
