Finally, someone got it…
… here’s the smartest critique of the actual Tebow ad instead of the hyperventilating that so many people on the far-left did all week:
The reality is that Pam Tebow was presented with a difficult choice and, faced with a moral dilemma, she made the decision which was the right one for her. I am happy the decision was hers to make, both legally and ethically, in consultation with those who love and care for her, as it should be for all women.
“Oh, and who said that?” you ask.
Rev. J. Bennett Guess, spokesman for the United Church of Christ.
He also talks about some of the objections to Focus on the Family (objections I agree with, by the way).
I would be highly skeptical that the ad made any real difference to anyone. I doubt Focus On the Family will see much of a financial boost from it, especially considering how much they spent on the ad in the first place. In fact I’d be willing to bet that they got more notice from the “We haven’t seen the ad but we think it’s horrible” stories which ran all week.
(I was going to call them “reactions” but I you can’t call it a reaction when you haven’t even seen the ad.)
