If you liked Impolite Company episode one, please leave us a written review at http://luo.ma/impoliteitunes
For those who aren’t familiar (and I wasn’t until recently), podcast reviews on iTunes are run in a fairly horrifying way.
iTunes only shows a few written reviews by default.
Unlike App Reviews, which reset when you issue an update, your Podcast reviews are there forever.
If you get early negative written reviews, they can dissuade people from downloading the podcast for a long time.
This is the worst part:
Even “unhelpful” reviews can stay near the “top”. How?
Let’s say you have a bad review, and people start clicking the link that says “I did not find this review helpful” and you get 20 people who say it was not helpful.
Unless you have another review which more than 20 people have said was helpful, that negative review seems to stick near the top with a note that “0 of 20 people found this review helpful.”
Aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh.
So, if you have a podcast that you like:
Thanks for your support.
