Fun Size Bytes — Chromatheraphy is bullshit. Here’s why I love OmmWriter. It is unlike every other full-screen minimalist writing app I’ve tried in one very specific very important way. It doesn’t try to prevent me from getting distracted by hoping that if I can’t see anything else, I’ll pretend I can’t just cmd-tab out of the app. OmmWriter distracts me on purpose, with its little tinkly typing noises, but it distracts me further into what I’m already doing. It’s like, “dude, you have no attention span whatsoever, but we’re just going to work with that.”

I get it… I just think it’s hokey. Like, if it was the first commercial during Saturday Night Live, it would be one of those ones where you think “Wait, is this an SNL skit/parody, or is this an actual thing?” and then later you find out it’s an actual thing, and then you find out that people really like that thing.

What I’m saying is that it’s the Chia Pet of writing.
