100

Tomorrow (that’s 2009-02-11 for those of you reading this in the future) is The Boy’s 100th day of school.

His teacher sent home a note asking us to send 100 pennies, because for their 100th day they are going to walk to the bank (across the street) and get the pennies changed into a $1.00 bill.

First of all, realize that I’m a bit of a pain in the ass, so I’m tempted to send the kid to school with 100 $1 bills and have him get changed into a C-Note.

But more importantly, let me ask you a question:

Do you have 100 pennies laying around? Because I don’t. I could maybe find 20 in the entire house if I dug into the couch.

Which means that today I’m going to go to the bank and get a roll of pennies in exchange for a $1 bill, which I will then unroll and give to the boy, who will bring them to the bank and get a $1 bill.
