Pew Research Center:
The more often Americans go to church, the more likely they are to support the torture of suspected terrorists, according to a new survey.
I’ll take it to mean no more than that various old-time values go together. So much for old-time values.
Because, really, when you believe that self-righteous religious leaders who felt threatened manipulated political leaders into holding a mock trial, beat your Lord and Savior mercilessly, and then executed, why would you be against torture and the death penalty?
Another quote comes to mind: “Father, forgive them, because they are nitwits.”
Wait, I think I got that last part wrong. But you get the idea.
